SAUVIGNON BLANC / FUME BLANC
Fresh and lively, sassy Sauvignon Blanc, also known as Fume Blanc, is one of the most popular wine varietals in the world. Like a boy band, these wines are appreciated for their youth and vigor. The New Zealand inspired-Sauvignon Blanc's have more tropical fruit undertones with citrus, grass and passion fruit notes. The Mondavi-influenced Fumé Blanc are more round with melon, grass, and sometimes vanilla notes.

SIGNIFICANT OTHERS... WHITE
Blush
Blush wines are produced by allowing red grape skins to remain in limited contact with the grape juice before fermentation starts, creating a
pink-tinted juice. The skins are then extracted, and the pink juice is treated in the same manner as white juice. Usually dry, sometimes sweet,
always prom dress pink, these wines are summer in a glass with strawberry, mango & pink grapefruit notes and a long, supple finish.

Rousanne
Roussanne is not overtly fruity, but often reminiscent of a flowery herbal tea. In warm climates, it produces rich wines, with flirty flavors
of honey lime, and pear, and a full body. In cooler climates it is more floral and more delicate, with higher acidity, and is always
delicious when blended . Like Dorothy says, there's no place like Rhone.

sometimes accompanied by a musky melon aroma.

and spring blossom notes with well balanced acidity.

Pinot Gris/Grigio
You could say Pinot Gris/Grigio is the cross dresser of the grape world. This is the same grape, but produced in two different styles. The Pinot Gris style tends to be relatively big, rich and full-flavored, with honey peach and pear notes, while the Pinot Grigio style is more flinty and crisp, with delicate green apple, and spice, and good acid structure.

White Blends
Winemakers have known for centuries that finely honed varietal blending techniques can result in a wine in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. White Blends are like Forrest Gump's chocolates, always delicious, always a pleasure-and you never know what you gonna get.
Marsanne aromas can suggest almond paste or citrus, mixed with perfume, and can add a bees wax quality to wine.
Muscat Canelli produces fruity wine with honeysuckle characteristics.
Ribolla Gialla produces light bodied wines with high acidity and floral notes.

The most famous of all the white wine varieties, Chardonnay is more popular that the Beatles and twice as

You'll often find apple, melon, honey, peach, hazelnut or buttered toast notes to chardonnay.

SPARKLING WINE
Sparkling wines range in style from very dry (Natural), dry (brut) and slightly sweet (extra Dry) to sweet (sec and Demi-Sec). Many sparkling
wines are also identified as Blanc de Blancs (wines made from white grapes) or Blanc de Noirs (wines produced from red grapes).
Cuvee' is blend of many grapes. Pear, apple, peach, minerals, almonds, and yeast, these swanky bubbles are full of surprises.

PINOT NOIR
Pinot Noir light to medium in body, with a delicate, smooth, rich complexity. It offers black cherry, spice, raspberry and currant flavors, as well as aromas of wilted roses and earth, herb and cola. Much like an ungrateful child, Pinot Noir is fickle to grow and difficult to work with. But treat it right, and your going to get a lovely and amazing glass of wine.

MERLOT
Merlot grapes produce a soft, smooth, fruit forward wine, with a medium to full-body. Supple, ripe, and rich with notes of cherry, plum, pepper, vanilla, toasted oak, spice, and gentle tannins, this wine, unlike your spouse, is generally ready when you are.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Cabernet Sauvignon, often called the King of red wines, features aromas of black currant, ceder, violet, black cherry, chocolate,
cigar box and shoe leather, with smooth to heavy tannins and a long lasting finish. Like a mullet, this wine is business in the front
and a party in the back.

ZINFANDEL
This grape produces wine with aromas of jammy blackberries, blueberries and peppery wild berries. Zinfandel can either be
lighter in style, with notes of cherry, oak and mild tannins, or ultra ripe with firm tannins. Like a sassy mother-in-law,
this wine is big and bold, and guaranteed to give you a mouthful.

SYRAH
Say Syrah, Shiraz...it's all the same grape, with pronounced black pepper, blackberry and spice aromas appearing in wines from cooler
regions and raspberry-red cherry and earthy notes in Syrahs from warmer regions. In addition, Syrah has a silky mouth feel,
like a portrait of Elvis on velvet, with lush forward fruit and a lingering finish. Mmmm, mmmm, good!

SIGNIFICANT OTHERS...RED
Grenache, Petit Sirah, Aliconte Bouchet, Petit Verdot, Mourvedre
Sonoma, Napa & Beyond
So many varietals, so little time!
Grenache is light in body, with black cherry currant and raisin.
Petite Syrah is a dark, tannic, fruity grape. It sometimes has smoky or chocolaty tones.
Aliconte Bouchet is full of ripe, red juice, with strawberry tones.
Petit Verdot has tones of violet and leather, and tannins as firm as a politicians handshake.
Mourvedre has a meaty richness, and Unlike most politicians, it has a firm backbone and a long finish.

MERITAGE
While most wines are named after a single grape, Meritage wines represent the winemakers highest art form...blending. Like
Anthony & Cleopatra, Romeo & Juliet, and Woody & Buzz, these are grapes that just belong together. With a range from medium
to full bodied, smooth and silky in texture, complex, robust structure, these wines have a long, supple finish. Bordeaux style
wines consist of a classic round-up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
Enjoy these wines to infinity... and beyond!

RHONE STYLE RED BLENDS
These California Rhone style red wines are medium bodied, with spice and berry flavors, moderate tannins, juicy as gossip and twice as fun. Blended from Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsaut, and Petite Sirah, you're sure to agree that “there's no place like Rhone”.

PORT BY THE GLASS...
Port wines are a Portuegese style fortified dessert wine. Ruby Port is made with a blend of red grape varieties and is blended from several years.
It tends to taste of berries, with light tannins. Tawny Port is a ruby port that has been aged for several years in small oak barrels. This gives the port a
tawny color, as well as a buttery, nutty caramel flavor. Vintage Port is a whole different animal, and must contain grapes grown in a specific year,
which has been declared a 'vintage' year. Though different, all Port wines have a ripe, luscious mouth feel, with more forward fruit than a
Judy Garland concert in the Castro.

LATE HARVEST WHITE WINES by the glass...
Late Harvest wines are a hedonistic treat. Bursting with ripe apricot, fresh peaches and as much honey as a belle at the ball. The texture is rich, thick
and luscious, and may inspire you to break out in song. But please don't.
